The Secret Sisters, Laura and Lydia Rogers, are the first to admit that their career has had its ups and downs, ranging from complete obscurity to touring with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, from the universal adulation that their self titled debut album created to being dropped by their record company, law suits with their former manager and filing for bankruptcy.
However, nothing can keep their irrepressible spirits down for long, and the darker days are definitely over with the release of their new album, You Don’t Own Me Anymore, produced by Brandi Carlile. A tour de force, it confirms the widely held view that they are the best sibling act since the Everly Brothers. Haunting and gorgeous in equal measures, with harmonies from heaven, it finally proves that the Secret Sisters are here to stay.
