On Saturday 13th May, the team behind one of Manchester’s longest running nights, Majefa, turn their hand to House & Techno and launch brand new night Metric.
The team behind Majefa ran a decade long series of parties across the city and closed its doors for good in August 2016. Once described by Mixmag as Manc’ Trance titans, Majefa drew people from all over the world for its international line ups of Trance artists.
With one door closing, a new chapter opens in the city of Manchester for underground music.
Metric will focus on bringing a series of exclusive extended open until close sets from artists right across the musical spectrum of House & Techno, both from the international circuit and also some of the legendary British DJ institutions that have graced everywhere from Fabric to Sonar, and Space to Gashouder.
The venue for this exclusive series of extended events at Metric, launches in the basement club of Joshua Brooks located in the heart of Manchester city centre. Following a recent refurbishment and a one of the UK’s only permanent fully integrated Void sound systems, this intimate, brick clad space, with its cavernous archways will be the stage for one of the most exciting nights to join the Manchester clubbing fraternity in 2017.
For the launch party, we have drafted in one of the UK’s most revered House DJ’s of all time. Having accolades to his name such as one of the longest running residents in the world for the legendary Back to Basics, resident at Space Ibiza, regular guest at Fabric and head honcho of 20/20 Vision Records, this man has become a firm favourite both at home and on the international stage over his 25 year career. We are of course talking about the one and only Ralph Lawson!
Ralph will be performing an exclusive 6 hour set that will delve into the realms of Disco to Dub, building all the way up to House & Techno. This will be a masterclass in DJ’ing and a very rare chance to see Mr Lawson an extended set from the minute the club opens, to the moment it closes.
