Sud Sound System is a dancehall reggae sound system from Salento, Apulia in Italy. They combine Jamaican rhythms and dialects from local cultures in their lyrics, and dance moves like pizzica and tarantella. The group is popular throughout Italy, but also widely known internationally. They are pioneers of Italian ragga and have become well known for their lyrics—about social, political, and economic issues in Southern Italy.
