Party: Craig Freeman

Catch LIVE music by Craig Freeman in the Boardwalk Bar on Friday 30th September from 8pm - FREE ENTRY (18+ ONLY).

Australian based but UK forged singer songwriter Craig Freeman
currently stands alone as one of the industries most engaging male solo artists. Freeman released his debut single 'Hookers and Thieves' in June 2012, receiving airplay all over Australia where his traction is already strong. The song was taken from his debut EP 'Any Other Day' recorded at Misfit studio's in Los Angeles in 2011. Since it's release there has been a tour of Australia including dates through remote towns in the center of the country. For Craig it's all about getting out on the road and
building his fan base from the ground up, playing intimate shows and winning people over with his honest performance and powerful yet inviting voice. It's this one town at a time, grass roots attitude that ensures Craig maintains a personal connection to his audience. Craig works as a Professional Lifeguard and sometimes draws similarities between the Ocean and his songs, there are deep calming lulls and overwhelmingly intense moments, fuelling the emotions of his listeners. With the natural ability of drawing an audience in through the captivating delivery of his lyrics and story, Craig has sometimes been likened to Neil Young, Mark Knopfler and David Gray. After 3 years of carving his own sound, developing it with the help of his audiences reaction, writing in the studio and an ample amount of surfing… of course, Craig Freeman has returned with what he personally hails as his most absorbing track yet, ‘Karma’ - A song in which he plays
all instruments except the drums (performed by Jessie Bird). ‘Karma’ will undoubtedly position Freeman as 2015’s globally welcome new artist, drawing strong influences in sound from the likes of Johnny Cash, Dave Grohl and Damien Rice. This is a song that grabs your attention from the outset. On Karma Freeman says: ‘It’s written from the perspective of someone who lived a pretty care free life, who didn’t care about the people they’ve hurt along the way and now it’s catching up with them’.
With his track ‘Hard to Breathe’ from the EP ‘Any Other Day’ featuring in an Anti Drowning campaign on television in Australia and impending gigs across Indonesia, U.K and the U.S where he will work on his second album, Craig Freeman will be a Household name this year, one we’ll all welcome.
