We are going to performance and volunteer in 2015 Ohio Chinese Festival.
The 2015 Ohio Chinese Festival will be held at Westerville Central High School on Saturday, January 31 from 11 AM to 7 PM. The school’s address is 7118 Mount Royal Ave, Westerville, OH 43082.
The Festival is organized by Chinese Culture Link (CCL) and Ohio Contemporary Chinese School (OCCS), joined by more than a dozen national and local organizations. CCL and OCCS have successfully organized seven Chinese Festivals in the past years, each attracted thousands of visitors.
To make the largest Chinese New Year celebration in the state of Ohio an even greater attraction, over 100 core volunteers, including many from sister cities such as Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Dayton, and Athens, have worked diligently for the past several months. It has received generous support from national and local business and individuals.
The Chinese Festival presents many facets of the Chinese culture. There will be three stage show galas, performed by top professional and amateur artists from all over Ohio, in a variety of artistic forms, including lion dances, ballet, traditional Chinese instruments, Western musical instruments, Chinese folk dances, martial arts, choir, popular songs and music. Every year one or two special themes are selected as special presentations. The 2015 Chinese Festival will be featuring the colorful life and artistic traditions of Sichuan Province and Shandong Province, two distinguish yet characteristic provinces across south and north in the continent of China’s variable landscapes, and two major representatives of the most famous Chinese cuisines.
There will also be informative and refreshing cultural demonstrations that showcase traditional Chinese arts such as Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, colorful costume shows of different minority groups, tea ceremony, and spectacular scenic photographical works. Other activities include many forms of sports competitions, children’s games, and Chinese cooking demonstration.
This all-free event is a great opportunity for people in Central Ohio to celebrate Chinese New Year and experience the richness of Chinese culture. It will be our great honor to have you join us in the Festival, and we would appreciate it if you can encourage people around you to attend. We are confident that all our guests will truly enjoy this wonderful event!
