HSC Boxing Day Walk - Langsett Reservoir Circular via North America! -
10.30am 26th December.*

Please meet in the car park at Langsett Barn, off the A616 Sheffield to Huddersfield Road. See brown tourist sign for the car park shortly after the A616 A628 junction near the Flouch Inn.Grid ref SE212004 Post Code S36 4GY The walk is just over 3 miles long and is not too strenuous, but should stretch those muscles and work off the extra calories of Christmas Day. There aren't any short cuts on this walk and walking boots are recommended. If you have any spare Christmas baubles bring them along and add them to the decorated Christmas Tree in Thickwoods.
The walk should take about 2 hours. It has become a club tradition to go to the Foxhouse Inn for lunch. Anyone not walking can still come and join us there at about 12.45. Fox House Inn Penistone Road HD9 2TR, about 1½ miles along the B6106 Penistone Road towards Sheffield from the club. Please bring along friends and family, all are welcome. If you bring your dog we will be walking across open moorland so please don't forget your lead.
NB If the weather on the day is very poor then we will cancel or
postpone. Last year you may remember it rained quite a lot on Boxing Day, so we postponed for one day and were blessed with a lovely sunny morning. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast and if in doubt please ring Andrew O'Connor on 07821701564.
