True Facts About Botnek

- Gordon and Erick (collectively Botnek) met at a party in a small Canadian town, a town so small you’ve definitely never heard of it.

- They were the only humans in this small town who knew how to make mp3s from scratch.

- Their love for mp3s blossomed into a serious partnership after their first mp3, a Felix Cartel remix, won a contest on Dim Mak Records in 2009.

- Botnek released their first EP “Plonk” on Discobelle Records in May of 2011.

- Botnek's second EP "Sriracha & Beer" was released Nov 20, 2012 on Dim Mak Records.

- In 2013 Botnek released their follow up singles "Through the Night" & “I Know” on Dim Mak Records

- Over these years Botnek toured many of Earth’s fine continents, learning to speak 7 languages, 6 of which they invented

- Botnek mp3s have been played by (somewhat famous) DJs Avicii, Tiësto, Calvin Harris, Hardwell, David Guetta, Afrojack, Diplo, Skrillex, Krewella, Steve Aoki, Porter Robinson, and Zedd

- Botnek’s bootleg remix of Martin Garrix “Animals” became so popular that Martin Garrix went on to play their version in his sets instead of his own, which lead to an official release on Spinnin

- Botnek’s latest release, a remix of The Chainsmokers’ “Selfie”, skyrocketed to #1 overall on Beatport and stayed there for 2 weeks. Thousands of DJs — including The Chainsmokers — praise Botnek for finally telling that selfie chick to “shut the fuck up”.
