Emerging mid-2011 with a series of handstamped white-label releases, Dense & Pika have since become a must-check facet of true, modern underground techno. Covetted by the likes of Blawan, DJ Koze, Levon Vincent, Jackmaster, Sven Vath and Scuba.

On Dense & Pika's third release for Hotflush, the head-turner is the lead track, "Colt." The crushing kicks that open it may hint at a journey to the darkside, but they're very swiftly joined by a plaintive piano riff, which sounds like its been culled from some early Chicago house track, secreting emotion with every key. A barnstorming bassline, distorted snares, ghostly strings and space—lots of it—add up to as an emotionally-charged techno record that you'll hear all year.

Belgian born and Berlin based producer Seba, better known as Kill Frenzy, has an infinite affinity for crude, lewd, deep and dark vibrations. As a teenager, he acquired a distinct taste for house and techno from the greats: Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, DJ Godfather, David Clarke, DJ Slugo, DJ Milton, DJ Funk. These kingpins would occasionally drop booty records, which further peaked Kill Frenzy’s interest. In 2012, Kill Frenzy signed to Claude VonStroke’s San Francisco based label, dirtybird. The idyllic pairing of “Booty Clap” and dirtybird, enabled the record to spread like a virus, infecting DJs as diverse as Soul Clap and Skrillex—the later of whom helped turn this signature tune into a festival anthem. "Taylr Swft," Kill Frenzy’s debut album was just released on dirtybird.
