Royal-T is among a rising wave of grime producers whose focus is squarely on the instrumental properties of their beats: staining them various fluorescent shades, drawing in two-steppy beats, and infusing everything with a ravey swagger and intensity. Supported by Rinse FM’s Eljiah & Skilliam and having released music on their Butterz label, he signed to Rinse for the release of a full-length in 2012 and subsequently started a regular show on the station.
