Toutes les inspirations d'Olivier Mateu prennent forme dans le personnage de Rodriguez Jr, nouveau maître de l'éclectisme du puissant label allemand Mobilee.
Moitié du duo français The Youngsters, connus pour leur collaboration avec Laurent Garnier, Rodriguez Jr révèle une facette plus contemplative, kaléidoscopique. Une techno profonde, doublée d'accents mélodiques et de refrains pop originaux, qui ravit les mélomanes à la recherche de nouveauté et d'inattendu.
En s'inspirant d'univers d'artistes très différents, comme Stockhausen, LFO, Carl Craig, Eric Satie, Kraftwerk ou encore Michael Polnareff, il crée une musique originale et difficile à catégoriser.
Alors qu'il recherche le lien entre ses influences diverses, il explique sa démarche de cette manière : "La bonne musique électronique n'est pas une prison, elle devrait pouvoir être appréciée partout, des dancefloors aux living rooms, et par tout le monde".
