OK, there's no denying there's a spot of weather about today – but we're happy to say this evening's forecast has finally settled, and it's looking good! The rain should clear, we're even hoping for a bit of evening sun, but most importantly the wind's backing right off and veering north-westerly, which means we're game on for high tide at Chalkwell. What's more, one of the nicest guys in SUP, Jamie Harman will be joining us with a range Red Paddle goodies on demo – a great chance to test out some of the finest inflatable boards on the planet. So we're going to keep it pretty tight off the beach tonight for a 'technical session' rather than going anywhere so we can work on technique, try some different boards and enjoy a bit of a splashabout in the warm summer waters. Meeting at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm launch (at www.wetndrysup.com/sup-locations/chalkwell-beach/ – nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ) we're anticipating the water should be pretty flat and the winds light (on current forecast: note the event photo does not necessarily reflect actual conditions!) but we'll play it by ear. Everyone with their own kit is very welcome, plus hire kit is available for £25 as normal from Jamie – just email [email protected] or call 07971 830087 to reserve a board. Then as long as you're in possession of a paddle, you're welcome to try the Red Paddle kit. Afterwards, we'll probably head back to the Elms for beers and food.
